World Taekwondo (WT)

The International Governing Body for the sport, recognized by the International Olympic Committee. Taekwondo Canada (and by extension, Taekwondo Manitoba) operates under WT rules and mandates the WT Global License for athletes and coaches.

Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters)

The official governing organization for Taekwondo belt ranking and certification. Kukkiwon Dan/Poom certification is required for black belt athletes, coaches, and referees in Manitoba.

Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU)

The Continental Union of World Taekwondo that oversees Taekwondo in North, Central, and South America. Taekwondo Canada is a member, making Taekwondo Manitoba part of the PATU region for international progression.
