We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to make this event a success! There is something for everyone: greeting, cooking, entertainment, logistics, and more.
Participation in the complete set-up of the festival site: installation of decorations, kiosks, tables, and equipment in each area. Some tasks require good physical fitness (carrying equipment, moving tables, setting up decorations, using ladders to staple decorative fabrics, assembling large cardboard trees that often require two people).
Manage one of the cash registers using the Square system. It is essential to be comfortable with technology and relatively quick. Calculations are done automatically, so there's no need to be good at math! Attention to detail is crucial as all entries must be accounted for, including free entries. This position also involves a welcoming role: smiling, politeness, and a sense of service are very important.
Welcoming volunteers, distributing t-shirts, managing arrival and departure signatures, and ensuring that everyone knows where to go. This position is quiet and located away from the festival. Once everyone is in place, there may be downtime. It’s a perfect role to give a break to volunteers with more physically demanding positions.
Keep the areas clean during the event: wipe down tables and keep the site pleasant for the public.
Prepare and serve maple taffy to visitors. No experience necessary — a brief training will be provided on-site. Be prepared to stand for the duration of the shift.
Help raise awareness of the event in the community: distributing and posting flyers, word-of-mouth, and sharing on social media.
Dismantling the site after the event: organizing equipment, removing decorations, moving tables, and cleaning the areas. Some tasks are physical, similar to the setup.
Prepare and serve food, clean tables, and assist in the kitchen. FOODSAFE certification is required for food handling. Other tasks such as dishwashing or cleaning may sometimes be assigned without certification depending on the organization on site.
Sell tokens and explain how they work to visitors. This position requires quickness and the ability to explain clearly. There is often confusion between prices (maple taffy vs children's activities), so patience and clarity are essential. Static position, located at the heart of the festival — very lively but not physically demanding.
Occasional assistance as needed: support for the facilitator, quick setup of spaces before workshops, guiding the public, logistical help. This is not a fixed position, but rather a series of small interventions when necessary.
Welcoming visitors, answering basic questions, checking stamps at the entrance, and ensuring safe flow. Being available in case of any concerns.
The costume significantly limits vision and mobility — therefore, a companion is needed to ensure the safety of the person embodying Toffy, helping them move and get dressed.
Ticket sales for the 50/50 draw.
Responsible beverage service. Valid Serving It Right certification required.
Direct support to the coordinator. Help with resolving small issues, guiding volunteers, moving around the festival grounds. A versatile role, often on the move to ensure everything runs smoothly.
