A month ago, Sophiane Méthot had us all on the edge of our seats during the Trampoline Olympic finals. Since earning her bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Games, Trampoline gymnastics has gained significant attention. Take a look at some of Sophiane’s recent appearances below. |

Congratulations to Ellie Black for winning the Paris 2024 Fair Play Award. The award, a joint initiative by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP), recognizes athletes who exemplify the spirit of fair play, sportsmanship, and respect for others. The Fair Play Award was determined through a collaborative process that engaged both athletes and the general public. Athletes and fans were invited to submit nominations via social media. A jury composed of representatives from the IOC and CIFP then selected a shortlist of five finalists. The final decision was made by public vote, which garnered tens of thousands of responses. Explore the new Intercultural Skills in Sport eLearning modules
The CAC is excited to announce a new eLearning module series to help coaches understand the diverse cultural backgrounds of their team, foster inclusivity, and engage effectively with all participants. By completing the three modules in this series (Defining Culture, Culture and Me, Culture and Us), coaches will enhance their ability to consider and respect cultural differences, contributing to more supportive sport environments.
These free eLearning modules are available in the Locker and each module can be completed in approximately 20 minutes. Coaches maintaining their NCCP certification or training will earn 1 NCCP PD point per module, for a total of 3 points upon completing the series. |

"(Re)Creating Community" by Gymnastics Saskatchewan During the 2023 World Gymnaestrada, one of the most moving Team Canada moments was the collaboration between Gymnastics Saskatchewan and an Indigenous group, which produced a unique routine titled ‘(Re)Creating Community.’ This performance highlighted the power of sport to bring people together and was inspired by an invitation to open the Provincial Gymnaestrada in Regina in 2021. It’s a powerful response to the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. The full performance can be watched here. As we approach National Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30th, 2024, we reflect on this impactful collaboration as a reminder of the importance of reconciliation and the role each of us can play in supporting these efforts. Club Spotlight: Laval Excellence, QuebecLaval Excellence has had an outstanding year, with three of their athletes earning spots on the five-member Paris Olympic Team and eight members proudly representing Canada on the National Team. Among their incredible achievements, Félix Dolci emerged as the Senior 21+ All-Around Champion and claimed the title of 2023 Pan Am Games All-Around Champion. The club is also home to Thomas Tittley, the Junior 15-16 All-Around Champion. Congratulations to their dedicated coaches, Adrian Balan and Brice Bernard, for guiding these athletes to success! |

Il y a un mois, Sophiane Méthot nous a fait vibrer lors des finales olympiques de trampoline. Depuis qu'elle a remporté la médaille de bronze aux Jeux de Paris 2024, la gymnastique au trampoline a acquis une grande visibilité. Voici quelques-unes des récentes apparitions de Sophiane. |

Félicitations à Ellie Black pour avoir remporté le prix du fair-play de Paris 2024. Ce prix, une initiative conjointe du Comité international olympique (CIO) et du Comité international de fair-play (CIFP), récompense les athlètes qui incarnent l'esprit du fair-play, l'esprit sportif et le respect d'autrui. Le prix du fair-play a été décerné à l'issue d'un processus de collaboration impliquant à la fois les athlètes et le grand public. Les athlètes et les supporters ont été invités à soumettre des nominations via les médias sociaux. Un jury composé de représentants du CIO et du CIFP a ensuite sélectionné une liste de cinq finalistes. Découvrez les nouveaux modules d'apprentissage en ligne sur les Compétences interculturelles dans le sport. L'ACE est ravi d’annoncer une nouvelle série de modules d'apprentissage en ligne pour aider les entraîneurs à comprendre les divers contextes culturels de leur équipe, à promouvoir l'inclusivité et à interagir efficacement avec tous les participants. En complétant les trois modules de cette série (Définir la culture, La culture et moi, La culture et nous), les entraîneurs amélioreront leur capacité à prendre en compte et à respecter les différences culturelles, contribuant ainsi à des environnements sportifs plus accueillants. Ces modules d'apprentissage en ligne gratuits sont disponibles dans Le Casier et chaque module peut être complété en environ 20 minutes. Les entraîneurs qui maintiennent leur certification ou formation PNCE obtiendront 1 point de développement professionnel PNCE par module, pour un total de 3 points après avoir terminé la série. |

« (Re)Creating Community » par Gymnastics Saskatchewan Lors de la 2023 World Gymnaestrada, l'un des moments les plus émouvants pour Équipe Canada a été la collaboration entre Gymnastics Saskatchewan et un groupe autochtone, qui a produit une routine unique intitulée « (Re)Creating Community ». Cette performance a mis en lumière le pouvoir que le sport a de rassembler les gens et a été inspirée par une invitation à ouvrir la Gymnaestrada provinciale à Régina en 2021. Club étoile: Laval Excellence, QuébecLaval Excellence a connu une année exceptionnelle, trois de ses athlètes ayant obtenu une place au sein de l'équipe olympique de Paris, qui compte cinq membres, et huit autres ayant fièrement représenté le Canada au sein de l'équipe nationale. Parmi leurs incroyables réalisations, Félix Dolci est devenu champion du concours multiple chez les 21 ans et plus et a remporté le titre de champion du concours multiple des Jeux panaméricains de 2023. Thomas Tittley, champion du concours multiple chez les 15-16 ans, fait également partie du club. Félicitations à leurs entraîneurs dévoués, Adrian Balan et Brice Bernard, pour avoir guidé ces athlètes vers le succès! |
