✨TG News✨

This past month, we held the TG Provincial Tumbling Camp, bringing together 43 athletes from Levels 2, 3, and 4, supported by 13 coaches, for a full day of learning and development at Airdrie Edge Gymnastics! 🤸

Athletes focused on upgrading skills and confidently linking newer elements into complete tumbling passes, with an emphasis on strong technique and progression. Our Provincial Coordinator, Bastien Cremer, worked closely with both athletes and coaches throughout the day to create a collaborative and supportive training environment. 🙌

We were thrilled to have Dr. Brittany Jewan (CGC) lead a targeted mobility session focused on hips and ankles, helping athletes build the foundation for stronger, safer landings. Jessica Walper, our Judging Chair, also joined the camp to host an engaging seminar and Q&A session on the new Code of Points for tumbling, giving athletes valuable insight into what judges are looking for and how judging panels operate. 🤩

The day concluded with a round-table discussion for clubs, providing an opportunity to share feedback and offer suggestions to help shape future provincial camps. Thank you to all athletes, coaches, and contributors who made this camp a success and helped support the continued growth of tumbling across the province. ❤️

We look forward to more opportunities like this and an exciting comp season ahead in 2026. Have a great holiday season! 👋

✨MAG News✨

Our deepest gratitude goes out to Markos Baikas, the head coach of Taiso Gymnastics Club in Saskatoon, for joining us during our MAG camps this week at CGC!

Markos is also the HP coach of Gymnastics Saskatchewan and the co-designer of the Canadian MAG Elite Pathways program. 🍁 As our guest presenter, he added incredible value to our athlete's experiences.

Over 100 athletes participated in three camps, including our first ever Select Camp which brought together all levels of MAG athletes who achieved the Alberta standard last season. 🤸‍♂️

This was one of our most dynamic and inspiring training opportunities of the year, and we cannot wait to do it again. We know that it gave everyone some amazing experience and prepped them for the upcoming competitions! ✊😤

Thank you so much to the staff at the Calgary Gymnastics Centre for hosting the camps in addition to our Elite Canada screening event the night before. You are true all-stars! 🌟

To the entire gymnastics community, on behalf of the MAG program, have a joyful holiday season and a fantastic end to the year! 🙌

✨WAG News✨

Our first sanctioned event of the season took place last weekend at the Pine Valley Gym Centre in Tawatinaw. 🙌

Kudos to everyone who braved the frigid temperatures and icy roads to compete at the Trials to Alberta Winter Games. Coach Dom absolutely loved the amazing energy in the gym, no matter the miserable weather. 🩵🤍♥️

Almost 200 level 6-7 athletes competed for a chance to represent their zone this February in the Lakeland County and Cold Lake region. Congratulations to everyone who made their zone teams! 👏

Over the fall, AGF and the Women’s Judging Committee hosted 5 judging courses in all levels, and we would like to give a big welcome to all of our new judges. We are very excited to have you join our community! 👋

Finally, just a reminder to all coaches or managers who wish to attend an event with Team Alberta. You must have a valid Police Record Check and Child Intervention Check to attend.

To review all the requirements of being a Team Alberta coach or manager, please visit the AGF website.

Happy Holidays!!! 🎄☃️🥳

NCCP Trampoline Transfer of Qualifications

This is a reminder about the upcoming transfer of your Trampoline Gymnastics Levels-NCCP qualifications to the updated NCCP pathway. This transition will take place on January 1st, 2026, and you may notice that your coaching transcript in The Locker will look slightly different after the update. An email was sent to all clubs on December 5th, 2025.

To ensure that none of your records are lost in the transition, we strongly recommend that you print your Locker transcript in Detailed View before December 31st.

Having a printed copy with Locker Event Numbers included will provide proof in the event that any course or certification does not transfer correctly.

Here is the link to the email that GymCan asked us to send to all our clubs to share with their coaches, in case you did not receive or have not seen it.

We are pleased to announce that in celebration of the holiday season, AGF is hosting a 12 Days of Christmas giveaway from December 20th to 31st across Instagram and Facebook combined. 🙌

Please tune in at noon each day for a fun, festive photo of our dear friend, Roland as he helps get us all into the holiday spirit! 🐵🎁

As we flip our calendars to the new year, we look back on past experiences and embrace the optimism of what's to come.

The new year always brings about new opportunities, and that can be especially true in the finance world. Whether it's the "January Effect," or possible changes to the tax code, we can all start fresh in the hunt for financial success. 💰📈🤓

The latest fundraising opportunity to come across my desk is the City of Edmonton's Community Investment Operating Grant (CIOG). This grant provides assistance to not-for-profit organizations that work to increase social inclusion and equitable access, as well as to businesses that help strengthen community among Edmontonians through activities or sport.

Applicants must also be members of Sport Edmonton. If this applies to your club, CLICK HERE for more information.

But, do not delay, the application deadline is at 1pm on January 14th, so you have time over the holidays to come up with a proposal! After that, applicants will be notified in April.

Best wishes to you all, and I hope that, however you celebrate, the magic of the holiday season brings you peace and joy.

We'll see you in 2026! 🌞🎆✨
