AGF and the Provincial and Territorial Gymnastics Sports organizations across Canada are pleased to announce the launch of SafeSport Gym Education.

SafeSport Gym Education is a collection of gymnastics organizations from across the country who worked hard to create documentary-style videos to share what safe sport means from real people, completely unscripted from real athletes, real coaches and real parents.

This is a collection of moments, feelings, and stories to educate us all.

Visit SafeSportGymEducation.org to view videos for all ages and for all people involved in our sport, in both official languages. You will also find Activity Books, Colouring Pages, and fact sheets about each video!

Feel free to browse and share and stay safe, because Safe Sport is Everyone's Responsibility.

Contact us at info@abgym.ab.ca for more information.

This past week, Ezra had the amazing opportunity to compete at Artistic Westerns Championship for the first time with Team Alberta! This trip was about so much more than just gymnastics — it was a journey of growth, independence, and making new friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. We are beyond proud of everything he has accomplished. Team Alberta brought home 1st place and 2nd place all-around — and Ezra even secured 1st place on pommel! Truly a trip of a lifetime for him. Huge thank you to Coach Will for all the support and guidance along the way! 💙

A Word from Finance and Membership 💵💰💲

If you're new to higher-level competitive gymnastics—whether you're a parent, athlete, or just starting out as a club administrator—you might be hearing the term "cost sharing" quite a bit around this time of year. Naturally, you may be wondering: what exactly is “cost share”, and “what am I paying for”?

In short, cost sharing helps cover the expenses for major events like Westerns and Canadians. AGF handles various logistics for Team Alberta, including registration, travel, hotels, meals, and team activities. This ensures every athlete is fully supported and no one is left behind.

To help offset these expenses, AGF allocates a portion of each season’s membership fees toward the team budget as a subsidy. The remaining costs are then divided equally among team members and billed to their clubs as an event management fee. Each club can then choose how to handle their portion, and most will pass those fees along to the athletes. In this way, the total cost is SHARED between AGF, the clubs, and the athletes and their families. 😃🙌🤸

New this year, AGF is offering prepayment options and providing clear cost estimates before and after events. This helps clubs and families plan ahead and avoid off-season hassles.

Our whole Team at AGF is committed to giving Team Alberta the best possible support so athletes can focus on competing and having a great experience.

Best of luck at Westerns and Canadians—you’ve got this!

Live long and prosper 🖖

👥 Getting to Know Your AGF Team! 🙌

If you could own any exotic/wild animal as a pet, what would it be and why? 🦁🐧🦍

Kate - Otters are our family’s favourite animal, so a pair of those would be fun ☺️🦦

Jacqueline - Panda Bear, they are sooo fluffy looking and cute! 🐼

Craig - I just want Moo Deng! 🦛🤩🇹🇭 She's strong, she's feisty, and in this chaotic world, she'll save us all!

Carolyn - Probably a Red Panda. No reason other than they are my favourite animal and look cute and cuddly. 😍

Jacinda - Pack of wolves would be super fun! 🐺

Mo - A panther! I recognize that they aren't really friendly but in this hypothetical scenario my panther would be cuddly. 🥰

Robin - A flamingo! Flamingos are big in my family and remind me of my grandma. Although I do very much like Red Pandas too!! 🦩
