2021-22 Member Submissions The current membership year ends August 31, 2022 - please submit any remaining 2021-22 members via Uplifter as soon as possible. Submissions for 2021-22 will be accepted in Uplifter until the end of day September 18, 2022. If you miss the deadline, please contact membership@gymbc.org. The new membership season in Uplifter will be available later this week. The SKUs listing will be posted on our website, HERE, under the “Reporting and Cross Training Request” heading. CanGym Update Gymnastics Canada has decided to offer the ‘old’ CanGym program at no cost to PTO member clubs. The program is available on a Google Drive using a link that was sent to all member club main admin contacts this morning. The Drive also contains a folder with some additional information and resources for the updated CanGym Active Start module that is scheduled to launch on September 15, 2022. Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards The Sport BC signature recognition event is confirmed to be hosted on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Vancouver Convention Centre East. Sport BC will be sharing more information about the event and distribute a call for nominations in the fall.

Call for Host: 2024 & 2025 Gymnastics BC Championships GymBC is seeking proposals from full member clubs interested in hosting the 2024 & 2025 WAG CCP Compulsory, and Artistic WAG Optional, MAG & Trampoline Gymnastics BC Championships. Please review both the Bid to Host Information Package and BC Championships Event Hosting Guide for more information on host club requirements and responsibilities for these events. 2022 TG Canadian Championships Results Team BC Trampoline athletes had a highly successful 2022 TG Canadian Championships held July 21-24 in Calgary! The 70-member team earned 22 individual medals including 8 National titles. Congratulations to our 8 new National Champions: - Brooklyn Lee McMeeken (TAG)- JR DMT

- Hayden Good (TAG)- L6 14U TR
- Jordyn Schmidt (FC)- L6 14U DMT

- Ruby Ryga (REV L5 15-16 DMT
- Sam Smith (SHA) - SR Synchro (with partner Rachel Tam)
- Sydney Lovell Schmidt (CA)- L7 DMT
In capturing the SR DMT Gold Medal, with a total score of 141.900, Gavin also set the new Canadian difficulty record on DMT with a two-pass difficulty at 20.8. New National Champions Brooklyn Lee McMeeken also captured Silver on tumbling and Silver in Synchro with partner Hayden Good. Hayden completed her medal collection earning Bronze on DMT, while Jordyn Schmidt also added to her medal count earning a Silver on Trampoline and Bronze on tumbling. In the team event, the women lead the way capturing an unprecedented Triple Gold in all events This event served as the second qualifier for selection to the 2022 World Championships and World Age Group competition in November in Sofia Bulgaria. Final selection for the Senior Worlds team will take place following 3rd trials event, September 14-18. Upcoming Learning Facilitator (LF) Training GymBC is happy to announce that we have scheduled LF Training from December 27 – 31 on Vancouver Island. We are offering LF Training for Competition Introduction (C1) MAG and WAG, and Competition Introduction Development (C2) MAG and WAG. Interested applicants are encouraged to be certified at one level higher than the level they intend to facilitate; however if you have extensive experience at the same level exceptions can be made on an individual basis. The application form can be found by clicking on the button below. Please ensure to sure to sign up for Core Training if you are not already an LF.
