Good Luck!  

GymBC wishes the best of luck to the 200+ athletes competing in the 2022 TG BC Championships this weekend! The event will be held from March 25-27 at the North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex. 

Also taking place the same weekend is the Twisters Invitational. Good luck to all of the competitors, particularly to the MAG athletes competing as trials to Nationals and Westerns, and WAG athletes competing as trials to Westerns.  

New Member Club: Pacific Shore Gymnastics

A warm welcome to a new member club to the GymBC family, Pacific Shore Gymnastics! 

Pacific Shore is led by Connie Sherman, Dana Kimura, and Leon Vu, all of whom are long-time members of the BC gymnastics community. They offer recreational programs at their Richmond facility as well as a competitive MAG program. 

They will be attending Twisters Invitational this weekend and BC Championships next weekend. We wish them well at their inaugural competitions as a GymBC member club!

2022 WAG Elite Canada Results 

Elite Canada results for the Junior and Senior categories have been released. A big congratulations to all of the BC athletes who participated! 

Notable achievements: 

Junior

  • Makenzie Grant (Phoenix): 3rd Vault, 4th Beam, 7th AA 
  • Selena Gonzales (Phoenix): 10th Vault , 3rd Beam, 10th Floor 

Senior

  • Sydney Turner (TAG): 7th Vault, 2nd Bars, 1st Beam, 3rd AA
  • Jordanna Phillis (Phoenix): 8th Floor 
  • Kennedy Duke (TAG): 2nd Vault 
  • Shallon Olsen (Flicka): 5th Beam, 2nd Floor

Strong Finishes for Team Canada at EnDW DTB Pokal in Stuttgart, Germany

Both Team Canada WAG and MAG had strong finishes at the EnDW DTB Pokal event in Stuttgart, Germany this past weekend. 

In the WAG competition, Sydney Turner (TAG) attended with coach Barb Fraser. The women placed 4th in the team competition, behind Australia and ahead of the Netherlands.

On the MAG side, Zachary Clay (Twisters) and coach Richard Ikeda participated. Zach contributed to Team Canada's 5th place finish, behind Great Britain and ahead of France. 

Well done, Canada!

2022 WAG Program Assembly

GymBC and the WTC invite all interested competitive WAG community members to attend our 2022 assembly. 

We will hold a hybrid meeting with both live and virtual attendance options (the Zoom link is in the agenda, link below). This will take place on Thursday March 31, 2022 at 7:00pm (following the Technical Meeting) at the North Surrey Sports & Ice Complex in conjunction with the 2022 Artistic BC Championships. 

We will be electing a new WTC Chair and up to 6 members-at-large. Please see the agenda and 2021 Assembly draft minutes below. Additionally, voting delegates must be designated ahead of time.

2022-23 WAG Athlete Representative 

Congratulations to Laura-Ann Chong, who was re-elected to the position of Athlete Representative on the Women's Technical Committee.
