Maternity Leave Reminder: Keara As Keara, our Communications and Recreation Program Manager prepares for maternity leave this week, we wanted to remind clubs that Keara's last day will be October 28. We advise that communication and enquiries intended for Keara be sent before this date. Megan McDermott, our Administrative and Communications Coordinator has taken over the communications portfolio and can be contacted at mmcdermott@gymbc.org. We are actively seeking to fill the Recreation Program Coordinator contract position. Inquiries regarding GFA and emerging programs can continue to be sent to gfa@gymbc.org. New Grant: Rally Together Fund A $4M Rally Together Fund has been developed to provide one-time recovery funding for amateur sport organizations who have seen a decrease in membership or volunteerism through COVID-19. This fund will help to ensure that B.C.’s amateur sport system continues to provide opportunities for sport development and recovery as well as the significant community and economic benefits. Funding is available for non-profit provincial sport organizations, disability sport organizations, multi-sport organizations and local sport organizations. Specifically, the grant is intended to support the development of programs focused on rebuilding sport participation ($2M) and the recruitment and retention of volunteers ($2M).
Apply by November 4, 2022, to fund programs running between December 1, 2022 and January 15, 2024.

Survey of Gymnastics in Canada: Reminder McLaren Global Sport Solutions is undertaking an independent review of gymnastics in Canada focused on safe sport and culture. 2023 BC Gymnaestrada Mark your calendars – the 2023 BC Gymnaestrada will take place from May 26-28, 2023 at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC Event Theme: It’s a Small World Concept: Celebrating Diversity in Sport - The event will be centered around showcasing the beauty of diversity, art, movement and culture around the world! Clubs can expect the first workplan for the event to be circulated mid-November.

WAG – CCP L9: What’s New & Practice Judging The L9 review and practice judging virtual clinic takes place on Wednesday, November 2 at 5:30pm. This 3-hour session will be presented by Momona Komagata. It will focus solely on L9 and will feature scripting on all events. Please note that this is a CPE opportunity, not a certification clinic. Registration closes this Sunday, October 30 at midnight and the Zoom link will be sent a day in advance on November 1. Register Here

MAG Trial #1 Registration for the first MAG trial for Canada Games will close soon. The event will be taking place at Langley Gymnastics Foundation. The dates for this event are as follows: - November 11, 2022 — Canada Games Trial #1
- November 12, 2022 — Canada Games Camp (everyone registered for the trial is invited to the camp)
Any athlete born 2004-2011 registered with Gymnastics BC wishing to be selected for the 2023 Canada Games is invited to attend. Registration Deadline: November 4, 2022

Upcoming Learning Facilitator (LF) Training GymBC is excited to announce that we have scheduled LF Training from December 27 – 31 on Vancouver Island. We are offering LF Training for Competition Introduction (C1) MAG and WAG, and Competition Introduction Development (C2) MAG and WAG. Interested applicants are encouraged to be certified at one level higher than the level they intend to facilitate; however if you have extensive experience at the same level exceptions can be made on an individual basis. The application form can be found by clicking on the button below. Please ensure to sure to sign up for Core Training if you are not already an LF. Registration is now open to LFs across Canada.
