The 2021-22 membership year is now closed. Clubs must submit any remaining 2021-22 individual member registrations no later than end of the day on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.

viaSport Safe Sport Workshop: Introduction to Mediation Skills 

ViaSport is pleased to invite interested sport leaders to continue building their comfort-level with handling potential conflicts in sport. This upcoming training session will introduce mediation as part of your organization's toolkit for safer sport.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, Oct.13 at 1 p.m.

Sport for Life: Webinar for Parents

Recognizing the critical role parents play in everyone's sport experience, Sport for Life is hosting a new webinar: Supporting Positive Sport Parenting for clubs, coaches and parents.

Join them on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to learn more about how important parental support and behaviour-modeling can be to the sport environment and what you can do to contribute.

Same Game Challenge: Apply Now

Canadian Women & Sport is pleased to extend an invitation to sport and recreation organizations across Canada to apply for the Same Game Challenge thanks to funding support from Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities (Jumpstart). This project will support organizations to advance gender equity and improve opportunities for women and girls as participants and leaders in sport. 

Applications for this first cohort are open from Thursday, Sept. 1 to Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8:59pm. Same Game Challenge will officially begin January 2023 and will run through until July 2023.

2022 GymBC Awards and AGM Weekend

Mark your calendars - the 2022 GymBC Awards & Scholarship Night, and Annual General Meeting, will be held over the weekend of October 22-23.

National Coaches Week (Sept. 17-25) 

National Coaches Week is fast approaching, and GymBC is excited to announce a special contest to celebrate the amazing coaches in our community! 

We are inviting athletes, participants and parents to recognize the marvelous coach(es) in your life by completing a short recognition form HERE. 

All submissions will be entered into a draw to win one of four gift cards. Those with a media attachment (ie. photo or video) will receive extra entries! 

To make entering the contest as easy as possible, member clubs will be emailed a copy of the featured poster with QR code link to put up in their facilities. 

Submission Deadline: Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.

Contest Draw: Friday, Sept. 30

Call for Host: 2024 & 2025 Gymnastics BC Championships 

GymBC is seeking proposals from full member clubs interested in hosting the 2024 & 2025 WAG CCP Compulsory, and Artistic WAG Optional, MAG & Trampoline Gymnastics BC Championships. 

Please review both the Bid to Host Information Package and BC Championships Event Hosting Guide for more information on host club requirements and responsibilities for these events.

2022 GFA Assembly

viaSport Coach Education Bursary

Since 1997, the Bob Bearpark Coaching Bursary Awards have been supporting coach education in B.C. 

Funding is available for high-performance coaches, female coaches, aboriginal coaches, coaches of athletes with a disability and coaches with a disability.

NCCP Gymnastics Foundations Active Start Pilot Course Online Delivery

Interested coaches are invited to apply to participate in the pilot delivery of the Online Active Start module. Coaches who are GF Trained in at least one other discipline may apply to complete their Active Start training virtually.

Upcoming Learning Facilitator (LF) Training

GymBC is happy to announce that we have scheduled LF Training from December 27 – 31 on Vancouver Island. 

We are offering LF Training for Competition Introduction (C1) MAG and WAG, and Competition Introduction Development (C2) MAG and WAG. 

Interested applicants are encouraged to be certified at one level higher than the level they intend to facilitate; however if you have extensive experience at the same level exceptions can be made on an individual basis.

Tentative: Foundations Introduction and Foundations Artistic LF training

GymBC will schedule a Foundations Introduction and Foundations Artistic LF training should there be sufficient demand for one. Schedule and location TBD based on interest.
