Designed for all ages and skill levels, the Velodrome offers world-class training, inclusive programs, and the potential to host domestic and international events. With a mission to empower riders, inspire the community, and foster lifelong cycling excellence, the Alberta Velodrome is set to become Western Canada’s hub for both competitive and recreational cycling.
This 4-session course helps riders feel confident and comfortable on the velodrome while building skills for future development. You’ll discover everything the track has to offer—whether your goals are fitness, strength, fun, or even racing down the road. Together, we’ll focus on safe progression, clear communication, bike handling, and track etiquette. To unlock full access to training, racing, and development programs at the Alberta Velodrome, riders complete Certification (1 & 2) and Accreditation (3 & 4), which usually takes a minimum of 4 sessions. A minimum requirement for participation is the ability to ride a bicycle confidently and continuously for at least 15 minutes. Riders must also be able to follow instructions and demonstrate progress through feedback. These requirements help ensure a safe and positive experience for all participants.
