Staffing Updates at GymBC GymBC has been busy reviewing our staffing levels and commitment to support our member club's needs. This, along with the evolving requirements to appropriately service the development pathway of athletes, coaches and judges in the sport, has led to the redesign of a number of staff portfolios in the provincial office. In addition to welcoming Emma Lim as our Summer Administrative Assistant (as circulated last week), we are pleased to announce the following staff updates: 1) Keara Urquhart has added the role of Communications Manager to the Recreation Program Manager portfolio since November 2021. Having spent several months developing our communications plan with our Communications Consultant, we determined this to be an appropriate alignment and have been pleased with the ongoing advances in our various communications offerings, increased social media engagement, and other related key deliverables. 2) Leanne James rejoined our team as the Business Development and Events Manager last month. In many ways, this new portfolio replaces the marketing activities we previously focused on, but with a broader approach to revenue generation initiatives, such as grants and commercial branding opportunities (i.e. cross-brand partnerships and sponsorships). Her role will address the deliverables identified in our strategic plan to provide turn-key resources and support to our member clubs. 3) Bobbie Worrall will retain the Coach Education portfolio, but with a renewed focus on supporting long-term development and recruitment strategies to increase the number and expertise of coaches in the province. In addition, Bobbie will provide administrative assistance to our WAG, MAG and TG judging chairs and committees, as we recognize that this aspect of the organization requires additional support. This new role will be known as the Coach and Judge Development Coordinator. 4) Momona Komagata and Thorstein Fischer, who both joined our team last fall as part-time technical program coordinators, have transitioned to full-time positions with expanded responsibilities. Now operating under the titles of "WAG and MAG Competitive Program Coordinator" respectively, they will both continue to work closely with our technical committees, community leaders and industry partners.

2022 BC Gymnaestrada A huge thank you to Chimo Gymnastics for holding a phenomenal BC Gymnaestrada event last weekend! The event brought almost 400 participants and coaches, and well over 1000 spectators (over two shows) to Comox, BC. The venue was filled with happy gymnasts and buzzing with positive energy throughout the weekend - a wonderful sight to see after a long three year hiatus! A huge thank you to the hardworking organizing committee, and the wonderful staff, volunteers, presenters, sponsors and supporters who helped bring it all together. We truly could not have done this without your dedication and commitment to GFA in BC. Some complimentary event photos will be shared with clubs shortly.
