AGF Webinar: Class Management Strategies

Alberta Gymnastics Federation (AGF) is excited to share an upcoming webinar focusing on class management strategies that coaches can implement in day-to-day classes, which will be presented by Tanya Vanden Boer and Ashtin Bokenfohr.

Raising Next Gen Men

Raising Next Gen Men is a 10-hour, self-paced, online course that gives coaches and mentors who work with youth the tools to:

• Unpack masculinity, gender norms & pressures in our rapidly changing society
• Teach boys how to maintain mental wellness amidst cultural expectations 
• Support boys as they navigate boyhood, including pressures to perform and compete
• Help boys develop and foster healthy relationships rooted in connection

2022-2023 Event Sanctioning Calendar

An email was sent to main member club contacts this week with information regarding the GymBC Event Sanctioning Calendar and updated process. 

If you are involved in event sanctioning at your club and did not receive this email, please contact events@gymbc.org to request the full details. 

Please be aware that the process is changing for the 2022-2023 season. The deadline for sanctioning is June 15, 2022. 

A summary of changes and updated forms is as follows:

• Tentative Calendar
• Event Sanctioning Form
• Equipment Request Form

Important Note: Submission of an event sanctioning or equipment request form will auto-populate into the tentative calendar, but are not considered final until direct approval from GymBC is received. Confirmations will be sent following the June 15th submission deadline.

BC Champs Travel Subsidy

It was recently brought to our attention that travel subsidy information was regrettably missed - we apologize for this oversight and thank you for your patience as we work to rectify the situation. 

Information on BC Champs travel subsidies for all events (TG, MAG/WAG Optionals and WAG Compulsories) will be available by the end of next week.

2022 Canadian Championship Series 

After a two-year hiatus from in-person national competition, Gymnastics Canada has announced the return of in-person national competitions for the 2022 Canadian Championship competitions in Rhythmic, Artistic, and Trampoline Gymnastics. 

- 2022 Canadian Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics: May 19-23^rd at the Olympic Oval in Richmond, BC

- 2022 Canadian Championships in Artistic Gymnastics: May 26-30^th at the Olympic Oval in Richmond, BC

• More volunteers are needed for the event! Please share the volunteer sign-up page with your staff, volunteers, coaches and families. 

- 2022 Canadian Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics: July 21-24^th at the Genesis Centre in Calgary, AB
