Private lessons - Coachs

Overview

In order to adopt the highest standards in safe sports and to further regulate the business practices taking place on the tennis courts of Stade IGA, a new process regarding the offering of private tennis lessons is being implemented at Stade IGA and is overseen by Tennis Montréal.  

Starting December 1, 2025, users will have the opportunity to book a private lesson with a coach listed with Tennis Montréal, directly through the Stade IGA booking platform. This measure aims to assure the public that all training staff members offering lessons on the various courts of our facility are active certified members of the Tennis Professionals Association (APT). Coaches who are not registered on the Tennis Montréal platform will therefore not be able to give lessons to individuals.  We therefore invite coaches to participate in this new offering by obtaining your certification and registering on the Tennis Montréal platform.

This initiative is jointly supported by Tennis Canada, Tennis Montréal, and Tennis Québec.

Why

The implementation of this new process aims to adequately protect the clientele of Stade IGA by ensuring that all individuals wishing to offer private tennis lessons are listed on the Tennis Montréal platform and are properly certified by APT. Indeed, anyone certified by APT is trained to handle ethical and legal situations in order to maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants, as well as being covered by liability insurance.

However, this new operation will provide coaches meeting the requirements with new opportunities, as they will now be able to offer their expertise to all clients of Stade IGA, which includes several thousand individuals.
