CHANGES TO PRIVATE LESSONS AT IGA STADIUM

CHANGE TO PRIVATE LESSONS AT IGA STADIUM

Dear IGA Stadium Users,

Please take note below of important changes regarding the private lesson offering at IGA Stadium.

The Changes

In order to adopt the highest standards of Safe Sport and to further regulate the commercial practices taking place on the tennis courts of IGA Stadium, a new process regarding private tennis lessons will be implemented at IGA Stadium soon and will be overseen by Tennis Montréal.

it is with great pleasure that we inform you that as of December 1, 2025, users will have the opportunity to book a private lesson with a coach listed with Tennis Montréal, directly via the IGA Stadium reservation platform. This measure aims to assure the public that all coaching staff offering lessons on our facility’s courts are active certified members of the Tennis Professionals Association (TPA). Coaches who are not registered on the Tennis Montréal platform will therefore not be permitted to provide private lessons. We invite coaches who are not yet certified to do so now and join the Tennis Montréal directory to offer their services!

We remind you that any commercial activity taking place on our courts must be sanctioned—otherwise, it is considered prohibited.

This initiative is jointly supported by Tennis Canada, Tennis Montréal, and Tennis Québec.

Why

As mentioned above, this new process aims to adequately protect the clientele of IGA Stadium by ensuring that all individuals wishing to offer private tennis lessons are listed on the Tennis Montréal platform and are properly certified by the TPA. Indeed, anyone certified by the TPA is trained to handle ethical and legal situations in order to maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants and also carries liability insurance.

These new measures were strongly requested in our latest customer survey sent out on September 15: nearly 80% of users expressed interest in supervised private lessons. We are therefore very proud to be rolling out this new feature this fall!

Please note: access to private or semi-private lessons will not grant any special access or privileges to the sports facilities for users. Ensuring accessibility to sport for all our clientele remains our top priority. The implementation of the new private lesson system will ensure better control over playing time, promoting greater fairness and transparency for all.

How

First, you will need to visit the Tennis Montréal website to view profiles and contact coaches to confirm their availability. When booking a court on the IGA Stadium website, you will be asked to indicate whether you wish to use this rental for a private lesson: you will then select your coach.  Please note that users wishing to take advantage of this offer will not have any advantage in reserving their court and will still be limited to one (1) or two (2) hours in accordance with the current Terms of Use.

This change will take effect on Monday, December 1st, 2025.

For any questions regarding the project, please contact: servicealaclientele@tenniscanada.com

Procedure to add a private lesson to your court

Tennis Montréal will offer a directory of coaches certified by the TPA. Here’s how to add their service to your court reservation:

  1. 🎾 Find a private coach on the Tennis Montréal platform
  2. Contact the person to agree on a time slot.
  3. Reserve a court and choose the coach. They will receive a confirmation email after the purchase.
  4. Your lesson will be billed by Tennis Montréal. You will receive an invoice via email with a link to pay online by credit card, or via Interac transfer by email. You must pay for your lesson before you can access the tennis court.

Make sure you have contacted the coach before reserving the court to ensure that they are available. If this is not done, your private lesson will be canceled.

By making a reservation, you consent to your contact information (name, email, phone number) being shared with the coach.

By adding a private lesson to your reservation, you agree to the Terms of Use of Tennis Montréal. Please review them for more information on cancellation policies related to private lessons and the Code of Conduct to follow during a private lesson.

Price grid according to the level of TPA certification, including a 4$ service fee to Tennis Montréal (*court booking fees extra)
