I) make sure the location is safe, especially outside were possibly there could be a broken bottle or something sharp
2) as a class can be a dangerous place since there's so many kids often think they can climb on the wall, it's important to be prepared when the kids enter the gym
3) make sure you know where the attendance list is so to have the emergency number of each child
For your final two day training, you will receive the evaluation that every coach receives every season. This is to make sure that the kids have a quality class and that the coaches keep growing on an individual level as well.
1) for the run and freeze, make sure one coach is at the head of the group as to make sure no kids run headfirst into the wall (one of the most dangerous things during class)
2) during the popcorn, make sure to hold the bucket and prevent kids from knocking their heads with each other as they come to deposit the popcorn balls
1) make sure to take back all the equipment when explaining as kids will swing rackets and sticks and possibly hit the child next to them
2) when using skills with a stick or racket, make sure to show the kids that they can hit the friends around them if they are not careful by showing this during the explanation using both coaches as one would swing and the other one will receive in the face
3) using two lines or one line to reduce the risk of injuries and controlling how many sticks or rackets are used at the same time, which means you can have one racket or one stick per line controlled by the coach
4) when doing lines, make sure to use as many cones as possible to show where the line starts, where the child hitting or shooting takes place, use two hat cones so they can stand in between
