Send an SMS/email message to a list of participants or contacts

From a template, click Send to send this message in HTML format. You will be redirected to the message sending page.

This page allows you to send your message either by email, by SMS, or both. You can target a list of people, a specific individual, or yourself (useful for testing the sending). Check the Send Messages via SMS or Email page for more information.

# Creating a message

Go to the Communication section.

You have two options: create a new message or use an existing template.

For a new message, you can write your message directly, for example: 'Hi!' and add a merge field like the recipient's first name to personalize the message. Choose the communication mode: SMS, SMS and email, or email only. Select the type of message: marketing (recipients can unsubscribe) or non-marketing (for important and urgent communications).

# Send a message to yourself

The best way to get started is to send yourself a message by selecting 'Me.' Write your message and click Send. You will receive a message on your cellphone and in your emails.

Modify your options in the Reply To section and your organization’s branding as needed. Check the help page for Organization Information and Branding to learn more.

# Select recipients

  • Choose a contact list or a form filled out by participants.
  • You can also select a specific course or manually choose individuals.
  • It is possible to send the message to both parents if necessary, especially for urgent communications regarding children's classes.
  • Add a subject for the email and emojis if you wish.

# BCC (blind carbon copy)

You can send a copy of the message to a list of users. Click on the BCC option to select the list of users.

# Send the message to both parents

If your recipients are children, you can send the message to both parents. Activity Messenger will take the second parent from the account. This feature is available for lists downloaded in Excel/CSV format, Amilia lists, and forms.

If your recipients are adults and your list is of Excel/CSV type, you can also send your message to the second contact you imported. Check the same option to do this.

# Creating the message using a template

For a more complete and visually appealing message creation, use templates.

Click on Use an HTML Template to create emails with images, photos, links, etc. Select the template of your choice or modify it by selecting Draft.

Use merge fields to personalize the messages, as mentioned in another video.

Once the template is ready, click Send. This will bring you back to the same recipient selection page, but with your template ready to be sent.

# Attach files and add links

  • You can add attachments such as parental consent forms.
  • Send to individuals who have not yet completed a specific form.
  • Attach videos, URL links, images, or even certificates.

# Send by SMS

When sending via SMS, the message will contain a pre-filled short message with the subject of your template. You can modify it. Additionally, you can attach an image from your template. Finally, the text message will include a link to open the full message in the recipient's browser.

# Send an email

When sending via email, the complete message will be sent. You can modify the subject (pre-filled with the template's subject) as well as the email preview. The preview will only be displayed when the email has not yet been opened in the recipient's inbox. Include an enticing message.

# Schedule to send

You can schedule the sending of a message for later. This is very useful for your email and SMS marketing campaigns. Check the help page on Scheduling Message Sends to learn more.
