Entering your existing phone number in the reply-to field does not make it your SMS sender number. Activity Messenger sends SMS from a number assigned to your organization through its SMS provider. This can be a shared number or a dedicated number reserved for your organization.
Reply-to mobile (optional) is a separate, editable field. It provides the destination when replies are forwarded to your organization's phone. Changing it does not change the number clients see as the sender.
In SMS reply preference, choose whether to forward replies to the organization's reply-to phone, forward them to the sending user's mobile phone, send an automatic reply, or do nothing. The reply-to field alone does not select that behavior. Reply settings can also be overridden for an individual send.
For example, if you enter your office mobile number as the reply-to number and choose forwarding to the organization, incoming replies can be forwarded there. Your outgoing SMS still use the assigned sender number.
If you have Billing access, use Manage your SMS number in Billing from Messaging settings, or open Billing and find Your own SMS number. Eligible organizations can choose an available number exclusively for their organization. Review the eligibility information and charges shown before confirming a reservation.
Self-service purchase requires an eligible active monthly subscription in Canada (CAD) or the United States (USD). If the option is unavailable, check the explanation in Billing or contact support. An existing reservation or a dedicated number awaiting review can also prevent another purchase.
Reserving an available dedicated number is different from entering your existing business number. The reply-to field does not transfer, connect, or reserve that number for sending SMS. Contact support to discuss a request involving an existing number; do not assume it can be used as the sender.
