Promo codes for multiple purchases (multi-items)

Here’s how to set up promo codes for multiple purchases in Activity Messenger to offer a discount on a second course or additional items in the same transaction. These codes are a great way to encourage your customers to buy more. By adjusting the settings, you can customize the discounts based on the number of items purchased and even target specific participants. Test and adjust your rules to maximize the effectiveness of your promotions.

Why create multi-item promo codes?

Multi-item promo codes are designed to offer discounts when multiple items or courses are purchased together. For example, you can provide a discount on the second course or any other item purchased in the same transaction.

# Create a multi-item promo code

Access the e-commerce section of your account.

Go to "Promo Codes."

Click the "+" button to create a new promo code and select multi-item promo code.

Name Your Promo Code:

Give it a name like "multi" (for example).  
Define the type of discount: a percentage (e.g., 10%).  
Specify whether the promo code has an expiration date or if it can be used multiple times.

# Set up the multi-item rule

Minimum Number of Items:

Define that the discount applies starting from the purchase of two items.

Example: If a participant purchases at least two courses or items, a 10% discount applies to each item purchased.

Discount Applied Only to the Second Item:

If you want the discount to apply only to the second item (and not to all items), check the corresponding option. For example, the first item will be at full price, and the second will benefit from a 10% discount.

Apply Discount to Each Pair of Items:

You can also configure the promo code to apply the discount to each pair of items. For example, the discount applies to the second item but not to the third, and it returns for the fourth item.

You can refine the rules based on the number of participants:

Single Participant: If you want the discount to apply to only one person (e.g., the same child enrolled in two courses), select the "Single Participant" option. This means the discount will not apply if a parent enrolls two children in two different courses.

Distinct Participants: If you prefer the discount to apply when multiple individuals are enrolled (e.g., for a family with two children), select "Distinct Participants." The discount will then be applied to each child enrolled in a course.

Select the courses or items in your catalog that are eligible for the discount.

You can restrict the application of the discount to only courses (for example, no discount on the purchase of a t-shirt in addition to a course).
