Conclusion: if your members, team and.or parents trust and know you: there is absolutely no reason not to reach out via SMS. Take the opportunity to improve communication by sending SMS. It's the new way for younger generations.
SMS Engagement use cases - Recreation, Sports & Leisure:
1. Recreation, Sports & Leisure Teams
Are you a coach looking to send quick reminders for practice with a few videos to help injury prevention and ankle strength? You can manage lists easily between players or parents (both of them... our competitors don't do that by the way.)
2. Recreation, Sports and Leisure Clubs
You have 1,504 members at your Tennis Club and you would like to send some updates from time to time about (1) another rain check, (2) make them sign a liability waiver due to COVID-19, (3) let them know about different renovations, (4) send them a reminder that there is a tournament during the week-end, (5) membership registration or new courses (sales!) or (6) simply to offer them a beer on the house? Send 2-3 sentences via SMS and the trick is done.
Our league counts hundreds of players. We saved some many hours of work due to the liability waivers with electronic signature.

But isn't it intrusive?
Absolutely - if you don't know the person and they are not your client and haven't agreed to be reached out by phone. Which is not the case for all the use cases above.
